Regular Martial Arts class
WBS200
Hung Mok School style
This course focuses on Hung Mok School Martial Arts, one of the five major schools of southern Chinese boxing, alongside Hung, Liu, Cai, and Li.
Originating from Mok family boxing, Hung Mok School incorporates techniques from Hong Quan; however, its application differs fundamentally. The core boxing theory of Hung Mok School revolves around "Jingtan" power, which emphasises unique footwork, timing, angles, and distance, all intricately coordinated to establish a combat system.
"Jingtan" power can be understood scientifically as a method of generating force that effectively utilises the body's own weight while minimising muscle reliance to create impactful power. With "Jingtan" as the foundation, the focus is on coordination, with movements being secondary.
This approach aligns with Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do philosophy of "using no rules as rules."
